At PCS Insulation we understand the importance of proper insulation in your home. Our team is here to help guide you through the process of upgrading your homes existing insulation.
Why upgrade your homes insulation?
Upgrading or adding insulation to your home can help keep it warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. At the same time, by upgrading you can save on energy costs and help combat climate change.
Will it increase my homes value?
The overall impact and property value that upgrading your homes insulation will have varies on the size of the home and type of insulation installed but some reports do indicate that some homeowners can increase their property values from 2% to 6% in addition to the energy savings.
Why is it important for your home to be well insulated?
Because heat naturally flows from warmer to cooler areas of your home. Having good insulation helps resist this airflow through ceilings, walls, floors, roofs and other surfaces in your home. Insulation stops the heat from exiting your home in the winter and entering in the summer acting as a protective barrier between you and the outside conditions.
How can I tell if my home is well insulated?
There are a few small tips and tricks we can share with you to ensure your home is ready for seasons. In the winter after the roof is covered in snow, notice if there are areas that tend to melt away quicker than others. There are certain factors such as wind and direct sunlight that can affect this but, if you notice an area of your roof tends to melt faster than other areas, this could be a section of poor insulation. Another tip is to use your hand to check them temperature of the interior walls, floors and ceilings. If they feel warm and dry you are probably in pretty good shape. However, if they are cold and damp, you certainly should consider calling a pro.
